What is the one thing that frustrates you the most, as a small business owner, about the difficulty of winning government contracts?
It’s probably that you know so little about the customer. How well do you know the customer, and how well does the customer know you – and how do you get through the door to meet the customer?
Even with your company’s high competence and excellent capabilities, submitting a proposal to a customer you’ve never met is likely to be a waste of precious time and money. It’s a fact: Most people do business with people they know and trust, and government contracting officers — who are responsible for the good stewardship of taxpayer dollars — are no different.
GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS INSTITUTE (GCI) is a division of The Total Management Group LLC.
GCI provides professional and technical services to government contractors in the areas of engineering, training, marketing, consulting and coaching. Integral to our support is the process of augmenting companies’ technical staff and building better relationships with their customers.
Through its training division, GCI provides courses and consulting services (both on- and off-site) to government contractors. These services give our clients an important competitive edge by promoting modern methodologies and best practices in marketing and proposal development. We also emphasize gaining increased awareness of each federal government customer and their rules, regulations and practices. We offer instruction and coaching that span the life-cycle of the procurement process from information-gathering to contract award, with emphasis on successful bid-and-proposal strategies that point the way to outstanding project performance.
GCI’s Core Competencies are:
The Federal Procurement Process
Capture Planning and Management
Proposal Development and Writing
RFP and Task Order Analysis
Pricing for Government Contracts
